I. Love. Margaritas. If you do too we can be best friends 🙂 I mean the fact that the nights are lighter longer, the nice weather when I get off work and the ultimate patio temperatures are starting to emerge–we need that patio drink pronto! That is where The Best Healthy Margarita comes into play. Plus did I mention it is sweet without no added sugars?!
I use to be a bartender for almost 5 years and made sooooo many cocktails and what the majority of the cocktails had were: alcohol and sugar… and then bar fruit which honestly after bartending I would highly recommend to never get any bar fruit ( message me if you want to know the details hahaha!) That also included the Margarita ingredients. From the sugar add ins to the not so “lime” lime faux juice that was cheap to buy, let’s just say they were not the best going into your body.
Therefore, I wanted to create a margarita that I love and wasn’t feeling the aftermath as much! There is a delicious Margarita mix I love from Schnucks that has better quality ingredients but still… wait for it… 18g of sugar in each one! Now I am not knocking enjoying a few sugary cocktails, but I was for sure starting to see how that was impacting my bloating.
So what is my secret?

This recipe is in collaboration with one of my favorite companies Karuna. They are an incredible prebiotic superfood beverage company that focuses on organic, Non GMO antioxidant, Prebiotic Fiber, clean protein, and nutrition ingredients.
SO WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL? AREN’T THEY JUST JUICE?
HARDLY. I don’t really give Ainsley juice that often, but whenever she asks for Karuna Juices I am all about it, why?
+ Typical juice bought at the store can have up to 28grams of sugar in 8 fl, whereas 12fl of Karuna has 10 grams of sugar or less—plus that sugar is not added sugar
+ These juices have 7 ingredients or less, with the only ingredients being clean, unrefined or processed
+Packed with a combination of whole plants—veggies & fruits, vitamins/antioxidants

What Ingredients are Needed for The Best Healthy Margarita?
3 oz Mango & Gogi Berry Karuna
1.5 oz Silver Tequila
1/4-1/2 tsp of Monk Fruit sweetener ( feel free to use another sugar sweetener, but using monk fruit allows this recipe to be without added sugars, it does not spike blood sugar levels)
1/2 lemon juiced
Feel free in the recipe to add more tequila, Karuna, lemon or Monk Fruit. Whatever works for you! If you need it more tangy or more sweet!

How is this Margarita added sugar free?
This Margarita uses Karuna juice that has zero added sugar and a bit of Monk Fruit sweetener that is not considered added sugar either. Feel free to use cane sugar if need be or agave, however love the Monk Fruit sweetener in this!
Can I use other Karuna juices for the recipe?
I recommend sticking with the Mango Gogi Berry, that one is the perfect sweetness with the margarita!
What can I do to make the Margarita sweeter?
You could add more Monk Fruit or Agave and could also add more Karuna.
Do I need to use a cocktail shaker?
Yes, I highly recommend doing so to get everything mixed perfectly!
The Best Healthy Margarita
Equipment
- Cocktail Shaker
Ingredients
- 3 oz Mango & Gogi Berry Karuna
- 1.5 oz Silver Tequila
- 1/4-1/2 tsp of Monk Fruit sweetener
- 1/2 lemon juiced
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker add ice cubes, add in the Mango & Gogi Berry juice, tequilla, Monk Fruit and lemon juice. Shake vigoursly.
- Add a sugared rim if you'd like, but dipping the top of the glass in water, then dip into Monk Fruit.
- Then add ice to the glass and pour over the ice!
