I have always been a fan of donuts, however I have not been a fan of the deep frying. That is why I took to my air fryer to create The Best Easy Air Fryer Donuts. Now fair warning they do not taste EXACTLY like donuts, because no 3 ingredient recipe made with biscuits will taste exactly like donuts. However, they taste so freaking close to donuts as well as healthier, easier and resemble them oh so well. Therefore they are a win in our book. A mix between biscuit and donut.. you really cannot go wrong with these!
What Ingredients Are In The Best Easy Air Fryer Donuts?
There are truly only 2 that you HAVE to have… then the rest are depending on whatever flavor your heart desires! Personally I am a cinnamon sugar gal over the chocolate, but you truly cannot go wrong with either. Ainsley is 100% team chocolate, as if anyone would second guess that of course!

How to Make The Best Easy Air Fryer Donuts
You will have these donuts in no time in front of your family, for yourself or for a room full of kids after a sleepover!
Directions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 360 degrees and cut a piece of parchment paper that fits the basket of your air fryer
Take your refrigerated biscuits. Separate them, and flatten them with the palm on your hand on cutting board.
Then take a donut cutter like this one or a knife to cut the hole in the center
Once air fryer is preheated to 360 degrees, take the tbsp of melted butter and brush it onto each side of the donut. Place each donut into the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper.
- Cook for 3 to 4 minutes depending on air fryer on each side. Once they get a gold brown on top you can flip them. (you want to make sure they do not get too brown, because you don’t want the biscuit dough to dry out) Every air fryer is different but 6 minutes total works for ours.
SAVE THOSE DONUT HOLES 🙂 — use the the dough from the wholes in the donuts when you cut them to make donut hole bites. Do the exact same as above & below cook for 2 minutes each side.
For Cinnamon Sugar Donuts
- Place granulated sugar & cinnamon in a bowl, whisk until incorporated. Add more cinnamon or sugar to your liking.
- Add the melted butter to a small bowl
- Dip the top of your donut in the butter, then the cinnamon sugar mix. Then place on plate, cinnamon sugar side up.
For Chocolate Sprinkle Donuts:
- Add chocolate chips to bowl, and coconut oil. Heat in 30 second increments depending on microwave, until chocolate is melted
- Dip the top of your donut in the chocolate. Then place on plate, chocolate sugar side up.
- Then add sprinkles on top!
What Tools Do You Need For The Best Easy Air Fryer Donuts
This recipe is so simple you don’t really NEED a lot of tools, because like I mentioned above you don’t need the donut cutter– you can just use a knife! However, these tools make it even easier.
Air Fryer
Parchment Paper
Parchment paper is key in the air fryer basket so the donuts do not stick. Just use kitchen scissors to cut the right size & you are good to go.
Donut Cutter
These help make the perfect holes in the center! If not just use a knife.
Medium Microwave Safe Bowls
You will need microwave safe bowls so you can use them for the melted butter, melted chocolate & cinnamon sugar mixture
