I did all kinds of sports growing up from Basketball to Volleyball, Softball to Dance– I can tell you my favorite sports drink was blue from a certain leading brand. I use to enjoy getting them at the softball concession stand. Now as I am older I got to thinking, how is that sports drink really NEON blue or NEON green. Last time I checked there isn’t really anything natural with those colors. I started doing research and found out that neon yellow/green color just like mountain dews color is actually a dye that is BANNED in other countries. We are still one of the only countries that allows that dye in our drinks. Mountain Dew that is sold in other countries uses a naturally derived dye because those countries banned the ones we use. Isn’t that a wake up call?

Post Workout Blueberry Smoothie Popsicles Ingredients: Makes 9 popsicles
1 12 oz Bold Berry Lemonade Karviva
1 ripe banana
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp ground flax seed
1/2 tsp xanthan gum ( optional, but creates a great texture in juice based popsicles)
Post Workout Blueberry Smoothie Popsicles Directions:
1. Add ingredients in the order you see above to a high power blender. Pour into popsicle molds, freeze for up to 5 hours. Then enjoy!
This is the popsicle mold that we use. I love that they use actual wooden popsicle sticks. It makes the popsicle stick ten times better when put into the freezer! Plastic ones tend to slip right off faster! Less mess for all 🙂 You also don’t want to waste a bit! Linked here

Can I use the other Karviva Ace Sports Drinks when making them?
Yes! I would use which ever one you would like with the blueberries– I plan on making it with the Watermelon Karviva drink next week, that one is my all time favorite!
If I don’t have fresh blueberries can I use frozen blueberries for the Post Workout Blueberry Smoothie Popsicles?
Yes, frozen blueberries would work perfectly in this recipe!
Am I able to use dairy free yogurt to the recipe instead of Greek Yogurt for the Post Workout Blueberry Smoothie Popsicles?
Yes, you can use DF yogurt. I recommend using vanilla dairy free Greek Yogurt since the recipe calls for regular vanilla Greek Yogurt. That will make sure the same sweetness is there.
How long do I freeze the popsicles before taking out of the molds?
Freeze for at least 5 hours. Especially if you are using plastic Popsicles molds. I linked our favorite popsicle molds to use above. I will link it here too!
I am allergic to bananas can I make the Post Workout Blueberry Smoothie Popsicles without it?
I have not tried this recipe without bananas. The ripe banana provides it with a balanced sweetness taste with the Karviva and yogurt. You can try it but it might not be a sweet.
How long do these popsicles last in the the freezer?
The ones I linked above actually come with bags to individually wrap them in to last longer and easy to pull out of the freezer to eat! They last about 6 to 8 months in the freezer when stored properly.
