Common Questions When Making McDonald’s Copycat Sausage Egg McMuffin
How do I store these for easy Meal Prep?
Let me show you the best way to put these together & store below. You will make them, wrap them up individually with aluminum foil. Place in bag & put in either fridge or freezer.
What is the BEST way to reheat these?
Since these have sausages in them, I recommend a certain way to reheat these so they don’t have to be in the oven too long & you can still eat them fast in the morning! I will preheat the oven and stick the McDonald’s Copycat Sausage Egg McMuffin in the oven while I get ready, so then when I am ready to breakfast it is good to go!
- This recipe makes 4 or you can double it with 2 boxes of the Wellshire Pork Sausages ( which is normally what I do to make 8!) Therefore, I usually leaven them out in the fridge for breakfasts for the family to grab in the morning. They last 5 days in the fridge so it works perfect! To reheat them out of the fridge : Oven at 400 for 20-25 minutes. Just place on the rack & you are good to go since they are wrapped in aluminum. (If they are not as hot as you’d like– every oven is different the next time try 425 for 20-25 minutes.)
- Take them out of the freezer 2 days before you are wanting to eat them. So if it is Sunday and you know you want a few for the week ahead, take out on Sunday. That way they start thawing. Then you will put in the oven at 425 for 25 minutes.
Can I use Gluten Free English Muffins?
Sure thing! You can use whole wheat ones too, whatever English Muffins you prefer!
Are you able to use Dairy Free Cheddar on these?
I do not use Dairy Free Cheese a lot, but I am sure if you prefer that & are use to it that will work! It will just melt on to it like normal. The only thing I know it will impact is the taste– but if you are use to that, I think that sounds wonderful!

McDonald’s Copycat Sausage Egg McMuffin
Ingredients
- 2 package Wellshire Original Pork Sausage Patties (there are 4 in a package)
- 8 slices mild cheddar cheese
- 1 10 oz Root Vegetable Shredded Hashbrowns find in local freezer isle– if you can't regular shredded works as well.
- 8 eggs
- 8 english muffins
Instructions
- Cook sausage patties as instructed on the Wellshire box. 4 minutes per side & then place on a plate with a paper towel until you are ready to assemble.
- In that same pan start to cook the eggs. In order to get them in an "egg patty", break the yolk in the center and take your spatula and continue to round the edges into a circle. You want the "egg patty" to be as round as the english muffin, so keep adjusting with spatula. As you finish the egg patties, place on a plate until ready to assemble.
- While you are cooking the eggs, I also cook the root vegetable hash browns in another skillet to make it go faster! Follow instructions on the root vegetable hashbrown bag.
- Once the sausage, egg and hashbrowns are done you will start assembling! Lay the bottom half of the english muffin on the cutting board. Then layer 1/8 of the hashbrown mixture, then place the cheese on top ( this will ensure that the hashbrowns stay put. Next will come the sausage ontop of that, egg patty and then the top half of the english muffin. Repeat for all 8.
- Then you will wrap each individual McDonald's Copycat Sausag Egg McMuffin in alluminum foil. (see above for assistance & how to reheat/store your McMuffin's) Enjoy day of or the weeks ahead!
