Fast forward 15 years later and I am still obsessed with the Freckled Strawberry Lemonade… but not obsessed with all the sugar that comes with. Also I am a mother to a 4 year old and teach 3rd grade during a pandemic, therefore this drink is spiked. Enough said right? LOL! I cannot wait for you all to fall in love with this Easy Freckled Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail. The syrup you will use to make this cocktail has NO added sugar. Too good to be true?

What is the KEY to this NO ADDED SUGAR Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail Syrup?
The Answer: Monk Fruit Sweetener
Now I had never really used Monk Fruit sweetener before I created this recipe. I will truly buy Monk Fruit sweetener just for this recipe ALWAYS now. This no added sugar cocktail is always always always going to be on repeat this summer! So before you think ehhhh I don’t want to venture into Monk Fruit. Think again!!
What makes Monk Fruit so magical!?
Monk fruit sweetener has actually be around for decades, but since there is an increasing popularity for alternatives sweeteners it has became a lot more popular along with stevia. Monk fruit sweetener comes from monk fruit, which is a small round fruit that is found and grown in Southwest Asia.
In order to create monk fruit sweetener, the seeds and the skin is extracted and crushed to create the juice, that they then turn into concentrated powder or granulate monk fruit sweeter that is used in this recipe!
It has a unique antioxidant called mogroside, that makes it sweeter than regular sugar and that is why you’d use 1/2 cup of the Monk Fruit sweetener in this recipe as appose to 1- 1 1/2 cups of cane sugar. Monk fruit is about 100-250 times sweeter than regular sugar. There is no sugar in monk fruit, so consuming it will not impact your blood sugar level!
Easy Freckled Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 lemon juiced
- 1/2 cup of Monk Fruit granulated sweetener ( linked the one I use here and they sell it at Costco!)
- Lemonade of choice
- Strawberry Lemonade Svedka
How to make Easy Freckled Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail
Directions:
1. In a stock pot, add frozen strawberries, water, lemon juiced and monk fruit sweetener. Stir until monk fruit sweetener starts to dissolve. Bring liquid to a boil, turn down to a simmer for 20 minutes
2. With a fine strainer, place it over a wide mouth mason jar or container. Pour strawberry lemonade simple syrup through the fine strainer. Until all the liquid is strained.
3. Reserve the strawberries to add to the drinksLet cool before you use. (If you are in a hurry add your container into an ice water bath to speed up the cooling process)
4. In a cocktail shaker add 2 shots Strawberry Lemonade Svedka, 1 1/2 shots lemonade, 1 shot Strawberry Lemonade Simple Syrup, ice and shake for 15 seconds. Pour over ice with strawberries cooked down in simple syrup, cheers and ENJOY!

- Sugar in nutrition facts comes naturally from Strawberry– then take into consideration whatever lemonade you choose to purchase! 1 1/2 to 2 oz of lemonade goes into one drink, so not much at all.
