Most Common Questions Asked While Making the Easy Cheesy Holiday Wreath
How do I make the fun bow on the wreath?
How I made the fun bow on top is using 1 large raw cranberry, apple skin and a sprig of thyme. With a carrot peeler, peel off a long stand of red apple skin. Then you will slit each side of the cranberry, going almost half way, you don’t want your cranberry to be cut in half. Then you will cut two strips of the apple skin. Make sure each strip is the same length. Then you will fold over your strips like a bow and stick the ends into the side slits of the cranberry as you see above. If they don’t fit your skin needs to be thinner. After take a tooth pick and stick it behind the cranberry and into the top biscuit roll. Lastly cut the thyme sprig in half and place underneath for the “long ribbon” pieces. Then voila!
Am I able to prepare the Holiday Wreath ahead of time?
Yes! You could make the filling for the Easy Cheesy Holiday Wreath ahead of time, place in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap for up to 2 days. Then you could also cut the biscuits and roll the ahead of time. Just make sure you store them in a container not on top of one another. Do not store it already assembled with the cheesy filling, we don’t want the biscuits to get soggy or wet.
Can I cook it in another dish besides a skillet?
You could cook it in another dish besides the shallow 8in frying pan. However, you want to make sure it is still shallow enough like the shallow 8 in frying pan because you want the biscuits to be able to expand just right at that lip, to really give that beautiful presentation!
How long does this Easy Cheesy Holiday Wreath keep in the refrigerator?
The Easy Cheesy Holiday Wreath keeps REALLY well in the fridge as well as heats up really well in the microwave. The wreath will keep for up to 5 days in the fridge. Since the cheesy filling will cool and become more solid, it will not impact the biscuits texture when stored. Therefore, storing together how you take it out of the pan is perfect! Then zap for 15-30 seconds in the microwave and cheese will melt, biscuit will soften and you are good to go!
Easy Cheesy Holiday Wreath
Ingredients
- 1 16 oz can of biscuits
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 ½ cups parmesan cheese
- 1 cup ricotta
- 1 cup frozen spinach thawed and drained. (About 10 oz frozen spinach)
- ¼ cup mayo
- 4 oz can of hatch green chilies
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Pre heat oven to 350 degrees
- Take the biscuits out of the can, take each biscuit one at a time and flatten it with your hand. Then cut it in half. Take each half and roll it into a ball and begin placing it around the oven safe pan seam down, as seen above. You will do this for every half of the biscuits and each rolled biscuit will be touching, making it look like a wreath around the pan.
- In a medium size bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, ricotta, frozen spinach (thawed & drained),mayo, hatch green chilies (drained), garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper.
- Then scoop out the dip into the middle of the pan, with the biscuits surrounding it. It may seem like too much for the middle of the pan, but it is perfect amount. You just need to press it down with your spatula each time you scoop more into the center.
- Then pour the olive oil into a small bowl and brush the tops of the biscuits with the olive oil. Then sprinkle Everything Bagel seasoning over the tops of the biscuits. I will pour some out into my hand and sprinkle it on myself, that way you can get a good amount on them!
- Cook in the oven for 30 minutes and/or until it is hot and bubbly in the middle. I usually need to place aluminum foil after 12 minutes of it cooking, because the tops of the biscuits are good and brown at that point. However, just eye it, your oven may cook different. Have the aluminum foil handy.
- Then place in center of table with a hot pad over the handle and enjoy!
