Rotisserie chicken is something that is so fast, easy and convenient to get at the store. I love so many recipes that are easy to make during the week that require one main ingredient: Rotisserie chicken. However, so many times when you get a rotisserie chicken it is super “chicken” tasting, or dry. Not to mention a lot of store bought rotisserie chicken are injected with high percentages of sodium concentrate, and other “natural” flavorings that have no “natural” part about it. Basically when you make THIS recipe you will realize that you will never want to buy one again. Which honestly might be a good or bad thing ;). But in reality, this Easy Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken is something you will be making over and over.
Now do not fear if you do not have an air fryer. You can still make this Easy Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken but in the oven. My family has already decided we will only be making a chicken this way for Thanksgiving. We need two chickens to feed our family, so we are doing this recipe for one chicken in the air fryer & then one in the oven. Easy Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken is now a thanksgiving staple!

Tips and Tricks for the Best Easy Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken
Parchment Paper in Air Fryer:
One of the best parts about cooking this Easy Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken is that it stays nice & juicy being cooked in the air fryer, while also getting nice & crisp. It really does work its magic! The key though is to line the air fryer with parchment paper so the juices stay around the chicken instead of leaking out of the air fryer grid at the bottom of the insert.
Flipping the chicken mid-cooking:
Flipping the chicken gives it that “rotisserie” cooking around the whole chicken without the rotating spigot. It also makes sure the top that has been crisping up is now submerged in those delicious juices one last time, which gives the top the perfect texture.
Layering on the butter mixture UNDER & above skin:
You want to make sure that you get the butter mixture on the outside so that the skin stays nice & crispy, but also under to make sure the meat portion gets all the good flavor as well.
Don’t skimp on seasoning:
You have a big chicken to cook, do not skimp on the seasoning. It might look like a lot in the small bowl, but believe me it soaks up that seasoning and you will be so glad you did! No one likes bland chicken 🙂
Let your chicken rest before cutting/carving into it:
This is so important after you make your chicken, because you want your chicken to stay that juicy & delicious texture. Letting your chicken rest gives the juices the time to redistribute themselves through the meat.
